Terms of Service

1. Who may use it

• You need a working email address at one of the listed Vilnius higher-education institutions.
• You must be at least 16 years old.
• Your account is personal. It cannot be transferred, sold, or shared by passing on your password or a sign-in link.
• One person, one account.

2. Verification and access

Anyone with a working address at one of the listed institutions, who can open the link we send to it, can create an account. There is no second filter: the domain decides.

Being verified does not mean we vouch for anyone's identity. We check a domain, not a passport.

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules. A suspended account is hidden from other students, and its owner is told so on their next sign-in.

3. What you may not do

• Impersonate someone, or create an account for another person.
• Harass, threaten, spread hatred, or publish another person's details without their consent.
• Use the platform for advertising, business offers, rental listings, or any commercial outreach.
• Harvest other users' data by automated means, copy profile listings, or attempt to bypass access controls.
• Upload content you do not have the right to share.

4. Your content

Everything you write on your profile stays yours. You grant us only the rights needed to display it to other verified students on the platform — nothing else. Deleting your profile ends that grant.

You are responsible for what you write. The room number and other precise details are optional precisely so that you decide how much to reveal.

5. Finding a roommate

The compatibility score is a hint, not a recommendation. Meeting, agreeing on a lease and living together are arranged between you. We are not party to your agreements and are not liable for how they turn out — like any other service that introduces people.

Before agreeing to live with someone you have not met, meet them in person, in a public place.

6. Ending an account

• You can delete your account at any time from profile settings. Deletion is irreversible.
• We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, that no longer belongs to a student, or where removal is needed to keep other users safe.
• For a serious breach we may remove an account without notice. Otherwise we write to you first.

7. Availability

Bendrabutis is provided “as is”. We work to keep it running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service and we may change or withdraw individual features. If we plan to shut the service down entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice and let you take your data with you.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, lost income, or harm caused by another user's conduct. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that Lithuanian consumer law gives you.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Lithuania. Disputes go to the Lithuanian courts; as a consumer you may also approach the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority.

10. Changes and contact

If we change these terms materially, we will say so in the app before they take effect. Questions: privacy@bendrabutis.lt.
